We are bad luck.

The Rangers have been on an amazing winning streak, so we decided to go while they were doing so good! Bad idea, they lost when we went. 11 games in a row, and then they lose. Oh well, it was fun anyway. It was also fireworks Friday and the theme for the show was Michael Jackson since it was the one year anniversary. It. was. awesome. After seeing that, we didn't care about the loss.

We did a little tailgating before, even though it was raining.

The happy couple.

We only brought 2 chairs, so we had to take turns standing up. This was Sarah's turn.

Me and JuJu.

I HAD to take a pic of this. How precious is this baby?

I've got saddlebags

Lately I've been watching a little too much of Man vs. Food. Usually I get grossed out by what he's eating, but there was one thing that I just had to try. He went to a restaurant that served breakfast food and they had this dish called "Saddlebags"...and they will give you exactly that. It's basically your entire breakfast in one.

Step 1: make sausage or bacon, you decide, and cut into small pieces.

Step 2: Start making the pancakes.

Step 3: Once it has cooked a little bit, add in the meat.

Step 4: Fry an egg and place on top.

4. Smother with syrup, and enjoy! They were really really good, and I think we'll be making them again in the near future! I don't think I should be making many recipes from Man vs. Food though, it's probably not a very good idea.

Yesterday Harvey moved to Ft. Worth! He's still getting used to it and he's a little nervous, but I think he likes it!

Harv just chillin on the couch.

I downloaded a free video app on my phone, so here's Harvey with his toy and my annoying voice.

We are family

This past weekend was father's day and our family reunion on my mom's side. I got my dad a dvd of the History of WWII and Letters to Iwo Jima, can anyone tell my dad is a history buff? I was pretty proud of myself for getting the perfect gift :) Saturday we just hung out by the pool and ate and ate and ate. My favorite!

I got this fabulous shirt in the Target $ spot! How could I resist!?!? And you can kind of see his new hot dog toy. I got this in the $ spot as well, and it is the best $ I've spent in a long time. H is completely obsessed with it. He even knows what it means when you ask, "Where's your hot dog?" So cute!

A couple of shots of the backyard. I feel like such a photographer w/ my new app, even though I am pretty much the opposite.

My fur-baby. He's still living w/ the rents, but if all goes as planned he will be moving to CowTown this Saturday!!

Sunday was a family-fun-food-filled day. I got to see some fam that I haven't in a while, which was nice. And I got to eat way to much food, which was double nice. I have zero pictures though. Oops! I spent all day Monday going from school to school *trying* to drop off resumes. Key word, trying. Half the time I couldn't find the school (I almost threw my iphone out the window on multiple occasions...that stupid blue dot doesn't refresh fast enough!!), and the other half of the time no one was at the school. I was able to drop off a total of 3, and then one more on Tuesday morning. I'm heading out again tomorrow, so please say a prayer that something actually comes of it. I'm thinking of other career possibilities if this doesn't pan out...suggestions?

Sarah, Stephanie and I have formed a True Blood watching club. Steph and Adam have a sweet new HD tv, so you will find us camped out there every Sunday at 8pm. This week was our turn to bring the snacks. I made cream cheese and salsa pin wheels (remember these ames?) and we brought taquitos too. True Blood was soooo good. This season is completely different than the first season, and I'm loving it!

Last thing I swear....We haven't really had a good grocery store in our neighborhood, so we just do our shopping at Target....until today!! Kroger had their grand opening today and we were so there! It's right down the street from us, and it's a nicer one...almost like a Central Market, but not quite. You know you're getting old when you get excited about a grocery store. I'm not ashamed though, I was super pumped for it! I even have my own Kroger plus card now. Bam! They had all kinds of food and drink samples too: sushi, cookies, bread, wine, champagne, beer, cheese, cherries...so much! And I bet you know which ones we loved!! But while we were in there, we found the cutest pineapple ever. Have you ever seen one of these? Maybe we're a little late on the bandwagon, but I had to have a picture. Baby pineapples are precious, the end.

Boba Tea!!

S and I found a place near our apt. that has Boba Tea, so we went and checked it out last week. If you've never had Boba Tea, I'll explain...it's pretty much just a slushy or milk based drink with tapioca pearls at the bottom. They seal the lid and then you poke through it with your straw. I got a blood orange frappe, and it was oh so yummy!

Total Eclipse of the Heart

Countdown to Eclipse: 7 days. We bought tickets last week. Heck yes.

Jimmy Kimmel has an Eclipse special on right now with most of the cast, and it's awesome. Before one of the commercial breaks they cut to a screen that said "31%: Percentage of the studio audience that think they will one day marry Robert Pattinson." It made me laugh so hard, because it's soooo true. Somewhere in the back of my mind I seriously think that I will randomly meet him, he will then become smitten with my awesome dance skills/good looks, and shortly after will propose to me. It's feasable, yes? I think so.

Slurpees and Hipstamatic

Through my amazing blog-stalking skills, I found this awesome iphone app. I'm not one for buying apps, I prefer them to be free. Before this one I had only bought one other app...Doodle Jump! And that was a must have. So, it took me a while to finally break down and buy this one, but I'm so glad that I did. It's called Hipstamatic, it's $1.99, and possibly one of the best iphone apps ever. It makes your pictures look old-timey and just plain cool. If I were camera smart I would have a better description, but I'm not so "cool pictures" will just have to do. It lets you switch out your film, flash, and lens. See for yourself...

Here's Sarah playing a little WWF.

There wasn't anything to take a picture of (besides Sarah and I being lazy on the couch), so this is just a random apt. pic.

My footsies.

Now for the slurpee part of the post. Last week Sarah and I passed a 7eleven which made us both reminisce on how much we loved Slurpees when we were little. Later in the week Amy posted about how she loved Slurpees too, so she got one! I knew after reading her post that it was destined for S and I to have a Slurpee. And that is just what we did. I had a coke and cherry slurpee, and it was fabulous. Now for our photo shoot with said Slurpees using my new love, histamatic.

Sarah lurves Slurpees!

I love to kiss Slurpees!

And that is all. I'm off to make us some dindin. Rasberry chipotle chickie w/ white cheddar maccaroni. Awesome.

Love Shack

Today Sarah and I enjoyed a nice little lunch adventure. A few days ago we got a menu for a local Chinese restaurant on our door. We got super excited when we saw they had Boba Tea!! I haven't had boba tea in forever so it sounded really fun. We had been planning all week to go eat there today and get a boba tea. We got up this morning really pumped for our outing...we even put on make-up which means it had to be a special occasion! When we pulled up to the restaurant our classy taste got the better of us. It just wasn't up to the usual 5-star restaurants that I eat at. So after our dreams were crushed, we decided that we would try Love Shack. This is a burger joint that I've heard a lot about and really been wanting to try. They have the original location down in the Stockyards and their newer one on 7th street near on our apartment. We headed on over the the 7th street location and went up to order our food. I immediatley felt awkward because it seemed like everyone knew each other there. There were flowers on all the tables and some ladies were handing out drink tickets to some of the people in line. I saw some fans on the tables with names and last nights date, and then I figured it out. Last night was the wedding and all the guests were getting together today for lunch. Awkward. So we got out of there real fast. There wasn't even a sign or anything! So after two failed attempts at eating lunch, we went down to the Stockyards to try the other Love Shack location. The place is so cool (Amy, you would lurve it)! It's all outdoors and they have live music! The burger that they're known for is called the Dirty Love Burger which is what I got. It's a cheesburger with bacon and the "love sauce" (pretty much thousand island dressing) all topped off with a quail egg. I have a special place in my heart for any burger with an egg because thats how the Aussie's do it. It was awesome. We will definately be going back. Good food, good atmosphere, and root beer from a tap. Works for me!

Here's a pic of the guy playing on stage. You can't really see him that well, but it gives you an idea of what the place is like.

Every time a couple gets married, two single people die.

Last weekend JuJu got hitched and it was fabulous!! Lot's of drinks and dancing, my kind of wedding! She had it at a place called Clark's Gardens and the whole thing was outside. It was so pretty and there were even peacocks all around! Although it was extremely hot, it didn't matter after the margs started flowing.

Girls at the rehearsal dinner. We ate at the Mesquite Pit in Mineral Wells. I had chicken fried steak. And I ate. every. bite. It was pretty impressive.

The happy couple!

This is one of the peacocks at the site. It was so cool! I had never seen a white one before.

Getting the bride ready! Her dress was gorgeous, and fit her so well.

I got to hang out with the girls while they took pictures. I felt special :)

Yay! They're married!

Some of the Cleburne girls. Notice how my dress has straps. About 2 hours later, well into my C-walk performance, the straps broke. Oh well, it's the price you pay for amazing dance moves. I know I was pretty impressive that night, I'm sure everyone was jealous. Just sayin.

Warming our house...or apartment

Over memorial day weekend S and I hosted a housewarming party!! I was so happy that so many of our friends could come...and super sad that some couldn't...you know who you are! I'm really mad at myself though for not taking more pics, I hate when I do that!!

We made Sangria in our super cool drink dispenser! All we used was the Sangria mix from world market, mixed with a bottle of blood orange italian soda and frozen peaches! Super easy, and suuuuper yummy.

My brother and his girlfriend, Amanda, came! They even brought wine and flowers! Saawweeet!

Baylor friends! Christina was also there, but I have no idea why she's not in this pic. It was so nice to catch up. Meredith and I hadn't seen each other since the summer after graduation...so almost 2 years!!

We stayed at our apt for a while and then went to the Gingerman...this place is slowly becoming my home away from home. I don't know what Stephanie did to deserve a head lock, but a head lock is what she got.

We really did have so much fun, I wish I could move all the time so I could have an endless amount of housewarming parties. We need to start planning a party for another occasion I guess...

Ok, Julie would absolutely die if she knew I was posting this. She doesn't even know about this blog, so I think I'm good. Here's the story...Julie does a really good impression of Alicia Keys singing New York. Head wrap and all. This is why we're friends.

I went and spent memorial day at my parents house and did this for the majority of the day...

My brother even made fresh mojitos. Nice.

The day has come...

Sarah and I broke down and FINALLY got cable and internet. I was seriously jumping up and down when the cable guy finished hooking it up. It was nice living without it for a while, but I soon got tired of finding out the news via facebook and perezhilton. And while I do heart my iphone, it's just not the same as my dinosaur laptop:) I know that all of my 3 friends who read this will be very excited, because this means more blogging! No more sitting at Starbucks and Panera hours on end! Rejoice!!
