It's Ladies Night...

The whole gang ready to go out for Julie's BP!! We had a lingerie shower before with lots of food and champagne punch :) Julie's sister Laura and her roomie hosted it at their super cute apt. I was slightly jealous...

Julie and her b-maids getting ready to go out on the town!

This guy offered to buy all of us jagerbombs. Yes please! Ames, you know my love for these!! Shots are always a good idea. Always.

Pretty friends!

You can tell how much dancing we had been doing by how frizzy my hair is. We ended up staying at a place called Fat Daddy's all night. They have a huge bar, a dance floor, and a live band....and lasers!!! The place was really cool, except it looked like it belonged in Saved By The Bell times. It was very 90's, but mucho fun all the same. They have cover bands play there a lot, so I suspect me and the roomie will be heading back sometime.

One of Julie's dares for the night was to take a pic w/ a muscle car, so she decided to use her own! I think she just wanted to show off her new car. I don't see anything special about it though...

Steph pooped out at the end of the night. Although, I'm pretty sure right after I took this she woke up and demanded that we get fast food. Possibly the worst decision of the night. Niiice.

Yes I have a full-time job, it's called finding a job...

Have I really been at Panera emailing principals and applying at schools for 3+ hrs? Yes.

Have I really emailed 25 principals? Yes, and I'm not even close to being done.

Am I going to lose my mind? Yes.

Things I love (that I got for free)

One of the perks of being a Prestige Consultant at Ulta is the free swag I get! When we go through a training, or a brand is feeling nice, or we have extra samples I get to take some home! These are some of the things I love that I'm too cheap to buy...

This first one I actually did pay a pretty penny for ($24). Too much for lotion I think, but I get a discount! This is hands down the best. smelling. lotion. ever. I had bought some of the unscented a few weeks ago, but when we got this in I had to have it. If I was blind and didn't know it was lotion I would eat it. Fo sho. It smells THAT good.

I've bought a couple of Smashbox kits that this came in and gotten a couple for free as well. This stuff is really good if you have a super long day and your make-up needs to last forever. Maybe not forever, but longer than usual. I use it when I'm going out, or I have to work at both of my jobs. It just helps your skin get not so oily, which mine is real bad about. These almost always come in their kits, so I would recommend never buying a bottle by itself, b/c it be real
expensive.

This is probably the best free thing I've ever gotten. I had never heard of 'it's a 10', but when we started carrying it a couple of weeks ago everyone at work was so excited. We got this miracle hair mask and a leave in conditioning treatment. I've only used it a couple of times and I can already tell a difference. They make shampoo and conditioner too, so I might go broke buying it all (in the future). The hair mask is $30, but *hopefully* it will last a long time so I won't have to buy it any time soon. I used it this past weekend when I straightened my hair and it made it look so nice and shiny. That's how I picked up all the guys that night.

This Smashbox creme eye-liner trio is so fun. Mine is purple, brown, and black. I haven't used the purple yet because I'm waiting for the right time to bust it out. I've had it for probably 2 or 3 months...maybe more, but I used it for the first time last week. It makes a much prettier line than regular eye-liners and is much easier than liquid.

These Stardust eye shadows just came out a couple of months ago. There are some really pretty colors like blue, gray, and gold. I have this purple one and it is really fun. It's really shimmery, so you don't need a lot...unless you like shimmer!

This Mario Badescu face cleanser. I love love this. It's actually not that expensive either, I think $12 for a small bottle and $20 for the larger. It's so soft and gentle on your skin, but still gets the job done. It says it takes of make-up, but I use a make-up remover too. Their flagship spa/salon/store whatever is in NYC...of course. Supposedly a lot of celebs use, so that makes me a celeb too, right? They also have really good night creams.

There you have it. I'm sure there are many many more things, but I'll have to dig through my make-up bag to remember. I'm off to work on job applications. Joy.

Killing Time...

So I'm sitting at Starbucks wasting time because I don't work at my second job for another 2 hours and I don't want to waste gas driving home. If you didn't already know Starbucks has a happy hour! Only until the 16th, and only on Frappucinos, but they're half price! woohoo! I chose a caramel frapp and it is oh so good.

I would like to send out a quick prayer request.... The school that I work at unofficially told me a while back that I would have the open Kindergarten position for next year. I knew I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up, but I did. I just found out today that they are probably not going to fill the open position because of budgeting issues. It is so unbelievably hard to find a teaching job. No one ever told us in college how hard it would be. Teaching jobs seemed unlimited...but as it turns out, they are not. I get so frustrated hearing people say "oh, I'll just be a teacher" when they can't find a job in their field. Quit taking our jobs! Get your own!!!! So after I finish this post, I will be applying anywhere and everywhere withing a 50 mile radius of my apartment. I just want a job, is that so much to ask?

Happy Mother's Day!

Friday night Julie came to visit! Yay for our first real visitor! We went downtown for a few drinks then went and had some late night food at Ole South Pancake house! My favorite thing about this place is the cheap price!

On Saturday we layed out by the pool, but didn't last long because our stomachs wouldn't allow it. We ordered a pizza from Mama's Pizza. I had really been wanting to try it, because I had heard such good things. And everyone was right. It was so so so good. Even after having many a pizza slice in New York, I would still say this is in the top 3. I can't wait to go to the buffett next time. Watch out Mama's Pizza, you don't even know what's coming...

This morning we got up bright and early and did our grocery shopping at Target. After we got back we finally painted our living room!! We were both really nervous about the color, but after it dried and the streaks went away we both loved it. Now all we need are some brightly colored decorations for the walls!

I'm sure Sarah is really happy that I'm posting these pictures.

The finished product! It's lacking in the artwork area, but it's coming along!

After we finished painting I got ready and headed to Cleburne for Mother's Day. I played outside with Harvey for a while, but he was more interested in trying to pick up the soccer ball. I don't even think he realized that I've been gone for two weeks. Rude.

The flowers in the backyard all bloomed while I was away! They were so pretty!

For lunch my brother made fajita burritos (fajitas #5!). They were awesome and just like Chipotle, but I don't think I'll be eating fajitas for a while.

Now we're all sitting on the couch wathing The Lovely Bones. I loved the book, but I'm not so sure about the movie. We'll see...

The week I ate Fajitas 5 times

This past week was Teacher Appreciation week at school and we got some good stuff!

Monday: monogrammed coffee cup, mine is pink w/ white polka dots and a green 'S'

Tuesday: hour long lunch. We ate at FasTaco! yumyum

Wednesday: Fajitas from On the Border (fajitas #1)

Thursday: monogrammed notebook and a jeans pass for the rest of the year. If I was a regular classroom teacher this would have been amazing, but I get to wear workout clothes everyday anyway!

Friday: desserts at lunch time. I had chocolate eclair cake. It was amazing, but I'm sure I gained about 5 lbs just looking at it.

Wednesday was Cinco de Mayo so Sarah and I went to celebrate her heritage! Pappasito's was having a patio party and half price fajitas, so we knew that was the place to be! It was about an hour wait for our table, so while we waited we entertained ourselves with some premium margaritas. They were worth every bit of the $11 they cost.

I was really proud of myself for finishing it (and beating Sarah). They were a little on the strong side, and for $11 they should have been!

The next day at school there were left over fajitas so I decided to forget about the Lean Cuisine and eat those! (fajitas #3). Then that night after work, I ate the rest of our leftovers from Pappasito's (fajitas #4). You would think I would be burnt out on fajitas, but no sir. Stay tuned for my next fajita eating adventure.

Weekend Wedding

Last weekend Sarah and I went to go see our old friend, Michelle, get hitched. I have never cried so much in a wedding. The whole ceremony was just so sweet!

I love this picture! It totally captures how happy she was! These are all the Cleburne girls that were there. AnneMarie, Dani Beth, Rachel, Michelle, Sarah, Me. I loved being able to catch up with everybody!

This picture was taken right after I asked Michelle why we weren't invited to sing at her ceremony. I'm still waiting for an answer...

After the wedding we went and ate at Los Cucos with my parents. Stuffed avacodos. so. good. Then we went to IKEA to get some more apartment stuff. We almost came home with a coffee table, but we're both to indecisive. Sarah did get a desk and chair! After IKEA we went and hit up NorthPark. This is my favorite mall ever. I used to go there all the time with my grandmother when they lived in Highland Park, so it's a little nostalgic every time I go. We were on a mission when we got there. We were looking for some cheap/cute plates from Anthropology to hang our our wall. And guess what...we found some!

I'm in love with them! I love love love the dishes there, I just wish I could afford more of them. I decided that when I get married (many moons from now) I'm definately registering at Anthro, even if they don't have a registry.

On our way out of the mall, we passed the Apple Store and decided that we had to stop so we could play on the IPads. I didn't have high hopes for them, and honestly I went in thinking they were pretty lame. But...after playing on them I see what the fuss is about. They are definitely for the person who has everything (not me) and were pretty fun to play with. We played some guitar hero and a little words with friends.

I'm finally a resident of CowTown!

I wrote this last week at Panera, but they kicked us out and I never got to post it.

A lot has happened since I last posted. We moved in to our new place last weekend and I loooove it! We don't have cable or internet right now so I'm using the free wifi at Panera:) Since I have so many things to talk about, I'll just use a lot of pictures!

In front of our new apt. I know we look real sexy after moving all morning. Don't be jealous.

After we finished moving everything in we all went and ate at the Flying Fish. I had never been there before, but my brother always talked about how good it was. And he was right, it was amazing. We will def be going back soon.

These are just pictures of our awesome place...

I took off work the monday after we moved and my mom came back to help me paint. I really like how it turned out. There are still a few things I need for my room, but I'm pretty excited about how it looks so far.

Here's my bathroom, with my very pricey shower curtain. It do look good though.
Please ignore the junk closet. Next weekend we're painting the living area so I'll post more pics later.

This is one of the huge selling points for this apt. The balcony is huge! We went to Lowe's this morning and got Kevin Christopher the plant. Isn't he cute?

So that's our humble abode:) I can't wait to have visitors!
